Joyce Echaquan has been 37 years old Mother of seven died on September 28th, she is from Manawan and was admitted to a hospital after she underwent Stomach pain in Joliette two weeks before her death.
But she shared a movie of hospital personnel taunting her before she passed away, she Live streamed a video of Facebook before her death and this sparked a huge public outcry. The sad part was in the video she can be heard yelling and in pain but the Staff member in the Hospital taunted and insulted her.
This caused a huge public outcry and people are asking how come the Hospital staff could be so cruel to the dying individual? Regarding this incident, the Quebec government ordered an investigation and the authorities would be launching an investigation of their own into the incident. But Joyce passed away, in the event the honored authority must act quickly she'd have been survived.
Who's Joyce Echaquan?
She is an Atikamekw woman and from Manawan, an Atikamekw community. Her family had a history of heart trouble, she confessed to the Hospital after experiencing Stomach pain.
On Monday, she passed away and her family claims she was given an excessive amount of morphine by hospital staff which resulted in her departure, before her departure she resides streamed her pain on Facebook. In the video, she cried for help but the inhumane staff insulted her.
The movie was filmed in french language, Joyce is familiar with French, in she pleaded"Come get mesomeone, come get me," but the nurse who came to attend said"stupid as hell" and even requested Joyce"Are you done acting stupid?
Afterwards, another Hospital employee arrives and explained You made some terrible decisions, my loved ones. What are your children going to think, watching you like that?" And another one answered,"She is great at having sex, over anything else"
Howcome anyone can hurl insult to a patient who's fighting for her life? Her Husband Carol Dubé, shared an emotional interview with Radio-Canada.
He said"It's 2020. I don't know how something like this can still happen. My wife went into the hospital on Saturday to get a tummy ache. Two days afterwards, she's dead. We saw her calling for assistance on Facebook," he added, overcome with emotion. "We saw that the degrading clinic personnel. I have seven children who no longer have a mother. I am so sad."
She was married to Carol Dubé and they discuss seven children. Since her passing"Justice for Joyce" is trending on different social websites.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confessed the video and said"All Canadians were shocked to realize that video. It had been the worst type of racism when she needed the most help. This is still another case of systemic racism. It's quite simply unacceptable in Canada."
