Johnny Baldwin aka Johnny"JJ" Baldwin was 24 years old guy who drowned on June 4th following a police chase become a foot pursuit and Baldwin attempted to flee swimming across a lake in Tennessee. What's more, the Winchester police division introduced the bodycam video of the incident to Baldwin's household, which shows officers failing to act and even taunting Baldwin.
According to the source, JJ Baldwin was seeing family his family in Tennessee and jumped into Tims Ford Boiling Fork Creek after fleeing from police over a minor traffic violation, Winchester Police Chief Richard Lewis told ABC News. ABC News reported he left his car at the same stage and officers discovered him trying to float across Tims Ford Lake, about 65 miles west of Chattanooga.

Baldwin's cousin, Destiny Baldwin, told ABC News that"They handled him very, very unfairly," and she said the footage"sent straight anger via" her.
The Winchester Police Chief Said The 2 Officers Made The Right Decision.
Chief Lewis in a meeting stated that the two officials from his department at the scene"made the right choice" since one could not swim, it was black and the thickness of the water was unknown. 1 officer on the scene stated"once I got to the edge of the lake I could see a white male about halfway through the lake. I gave him orders to stop and swim back , which he did," and added,"he ceased coming nearer and just floated there for another."
Furthermore, he said Johnny Baldwin went"underwater and [popped] up a few times but would never proceed to the edge where we could get him. [He] went submerged one final time and never came back up"
Johnny Baldwin Family Said The 2 Officers Should Be Fired.
Baldwin's cousin, Destiny Baldwin said that the officers should be fired and be charged since the footage shows them acting maliciously. She said"it is a part of your job to protect and serve the neighborhood. It just looked like in that situation with JJ that wasn't it. It was more of,'Do I know this person? Is he armed? He is faking it' Materials a cop on duty shouldn't ask."
Baldwin's Mother, Elba Rivera told"He requested three times help me assist me they just let him go like I don't. Understand how do you be a cop and not save someone."
On the other hand, the attorneys representing Baldwin's family disagreed with a Police Statement and said"The authorities body camera video shared on social websites depicting Johnny's death is nothing short of revolting in its display of absolute indifference on the part of the officers to a drowning person. It illustrates how even well-intentioned officers can be the catalyst for tragedy when they don't act."
