She combined Tilak Nagar High School, Dombivli, Maharashtra and, later, was home-schooled and four of her friends. Throughout her schooling, Mathematics was her favourite subject, which has been taught to her by her grandmother, Madhumalati Apte, who had been a mathematician and a PhD out of France. Together with schooling, Apte also received training in Kathak for eight decades. She completed her Bachelor's in Economics and Mathematics from Fergusson College, Pune.

At the age of 18, she started taking part in Marathi theatre plays. In 2003, she did her very first drama "Nako Re Baba." Thereafter, she did a number of plays in Hindi and English languages like Purnaviram, Tu, Kanyadaan, Matra Ratra, Brain Surgeon, That Time, and Bombay Black. Back in Pune, she had been associated with Mohit Takalkar's theater group,"Aasakta Kalamanch."

Radhika made her acting debut in 2005 together with the role of Anjali from the Bollywood film, "Vaah! ." Afterward, she appeared in films like"I'm" and"Shor at the City" under the Balaji Film Production.

She marked her debut in Bengali movies with Antaheen (2009), in Marathi movies with Samaantar (2009), in Telugu movies with Rakht Charitra (2010), in Tamil movie with Dhoni (2012), and in Malayalam films with Haram (2015).

In 2014, she appeared in 9 movies in different languages and also obtained admiration for many of them from the critics. Next, she portrayed the role of Binodini from the Hindi TV series,"Stories by Rabindranath Tagore." In 2018, she co-wrote that the Bollywood film "Lust Stories," and played the lead part in it. At Precisely the Same year, she co-starred using Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor from the comedy-drama "PadMan."

Apte played the use of Nida Rahim in the Netflix terror miniseries "Ghoul" (2018). Her performance in the web series earned her massive fame.

Controversies


In February 2015, vulgar images of Apte went viral across the societal websites. However, it was afterwards found that the images were of a woman who seemed like Radhika. She also claimed she had to endure a lot from the Telugu film industry as actresses that there were not treated properly.
In April 2015, a video clip showing Apte lifting her clothes went viral on the internet. The clip was essentially part of Anurag Kashyap's global short film. When Kashyap came to know about the incident, he rushed to the Cyber Crime Branch of Mumbai Police and registered a complaint relating to this.
