Barkha was in her school when she began doing modelling assignments.
After modelling for a while, Barkha chose to create her career in acting, but her father did not accept her because of this. She fortunately got her very first serial"Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi (2004-05)." After she left Mumbai, her dad didn't talk to her for 2 months. Eventually, her sisters and mother mediated and aided Barkha to convince her father.
She had been voted as NDA Queen at December 2000.
