Mayur Vakani was created in 1976 (age 41 years; as in 2019) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Mayur holds an M.A. level in Indian culture, a degree in palaces, and a diploma in play. Being born to a theater artist father, Mayur was likely towards acting from a really young age. He began doing theater when he was only 6 years old.

Mayur began his acting career by doing a number of commercial plays. He, then, auditioned for a variety of shows and played little characters in several TV shows. Afterward he bagged the function of"Sunderlal" at Sony TV's sequential"Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma."

His hobbies include swimming and travelling pool.
The brother-sister Jodi of Sunderlal and Daya Gada in the successive Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma are real life siblings.
Mayur's father has also made small appearances in the series"Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma."
Mayur along with his sister Disha also have worked in several plays and TV shows together before Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma.
Mayur is very fond of sweets. When he was a kid he used to empty the sweet box in one go and got scoldings from his mother.
Vakani is also a Sculptor out of his profession. He was one of the leading members at the building of'Gujarat's Jhanki' to be displayed from the Republic Day's Parade at Delhi. He was also the main person behind the decoration of the hall during the trip of Xi Jing Ping.
Mayur has also carved out PM Modi's statue sporting the package that was auctioned for $4.31 crores into Surat-based businessman Laljhibai Patel. According to him, it took him and his friend, Anand Tike to produce the statue appear realistic.
