Jane Laut is 62 years old and spouse of Dave Laut who was an American shot putter and he died at his home in Oxnard, California, on August 27, 2009, after being shot several times in the head by Jane.
She alleged that he had battered her since the start of their marriage, and she was convicted of murder and sentenced to 50-years-to-life.
Jane maintained that she'd taken Jane Laut in self indulgent following five decades. In 2019, her lawyers were trying to get her certainty because the prosecutor made misleading statements to the prosecution.
On March 30, 2016, she was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 50 years in prison and she'd turned down a plea bargain to get a six-year sentence.
Why Jane Laut Killed Dave Laut?
Clinical psychologist Katherine Emerick, that had been treating Jane Laut for melancholy, hinting that she had diagnosed Jane Laut with post-traumatic stress disorder, nervousness, dependent personality disorder, and avoidant personality disorder.
In a meeting with CBC' 48 Hours, Jane said she suffered at her husband's hands and why she needed to kill him that evening. But at the night of her 52-year-old husband's murder, she told the dispatcher that shots were fired.
But prosecutors told she was obsessed with cash and prepared to do anything to get longer. Dave Laut's mum Dotty Laut testified concerning how she gave Jane $60,000 over the past few years in funds for bills and other expenses.
Rebecca Laut, Dave's sister-in-law told CBS' Erin Moriarty"I mean if you knew Dave and the kind of man he was and how he beamed when he spoke about Jane," and"I mean, he just -- he adored her."
Dave was an American shot championships and won the bronze medal in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. In 1979, he won the gold medal at Pan American Games and the bronze at the 1981 IAAF World Cup.
Later, in his career, he represented the USA in 979, 1981, 1983, and 1985. Dave's personal best throw was 22.02 meters, attained in August 1982 at Koblenz. What's more, Dave was rated No. 7 shot putter in the world and since the No. 1 American.
The Way Dave Laut Met Jane Laut?
They met in high school and he was an athlete who was gifted in soccer, track, and field, and basketball and Jane was a homecoming queen who had been among the best volleyball players in her staff.
Back in 1980, the couple wed. However, their marriage was a great one until they'd had Michael for five decades and also the alleged abuse began.
