Kiran Kumar was created on 20 October 1953 (age 65 years; as in 2018) at Mumbai. Kiran did his education from Indore's The Daly College and proceeded into R.D. National College, Bandra, Mumbai to finish his alliance. After finishing his graduation, Kiran registered himself Film and Television Institute of India (FTTI), Pune to pursue a path in acting.

Kumar began his acting career in 1960 by building a cameo in"Love In Shimla." But, his debut as a lead performer came in 1974 with the movie"Azad Mohabbat." Kiran watched his livelihood suffer following the launch of those movies like"Jungle Mein Mangal" and he opted to work from the Gujarati movies following the recession. He received fame from the Gujarati Film Industry and realized the name"The Bachhan of Gujarati Cinema." Rakesh Roshan attracted him back into the Hindi Cinema with his movie"Khudgarz" after which he appeared at a negative part in movies including"Tezaab" and"Khuda Gawah." His portrayal of these negative characters won him a few accolades.
Kiran has also featured in many TV serials such as"Zindagi,""Ghutan,""Sahil,""Manzil,""Grihasti,""Katha Sagar,""Aur Phir Ek Din,""Papa,""Miilee,""Aur Phir Ek Din," and"Agneepath."
